Primary extranodal lymphoma: unusual sites

Background: Lymphoma arises in lymph nodes. Infiltration of malignant lymphomatous cells the organs other than node is termed as extranodal lymphoma (ENL). Almost any organ body can get affected. The most frequently involved system gastrointestinal tract, followed by lung, liver, spleen, bone, and skin. Primary central nervous (CNS) also well documented. Origin tumor from non-lymph-nodal tissue primary ENL, whereas hematogenous spread disease nodes to secondary ENL. Extranodal involvement more common non-Hodgkin’s (NHL) Hodgkin’s disease. Aims Objectives: aim study was prevalence ENLs at unusual sites. Materials Methods: A prospective conducted for a period 3 years rare Results: In our study, participants were having mean age 50 showed bimodal distribution. total 16 cases male (59%) rest female (11 cases, 41%). We found that B-symptoms present 19 (70%) absent remaining. Most B- cell type (20 74%) T-cell (seven 26%). site being tract (10 37%) CNS (four 15%), spleen (two 7%), tonsil cutaneous 7%). Other less sites included breast, paranasal sinuses, mediastinum, floor mouth, nasopharynx, testis, thyroid. NHL only variant all cases. Diffuse large B-cell (DLBCL) 11 (37%). DLBCL be aggressive with them activated type, ABC Germinal center GCB (30%). Conclusion: broad spectrum various subtype lymphoma. This concluded occur location. fact ENL may factor treatment plan prognosis. B or T origin important prognostic factors.
